WALDO PEIRCE (MA/ME, 1884-1970) - "Serafina", oil on canvas, unsigned, titled verso on exhibition label, a three-quarter length portrait of a woman in Spanish costume, with white gloves, in gold ribbed frame, OS: 42" x 31", SS: 39 1/2" x 28 1/2". Cleaned and relined. Peirce studied in Spain with Ignacio Zuloaga at the time, was a compatriot of Ernest Hemingway. From a Yarmouth Maine collection.
