Item Description:

1. Edward W Bok 1863-1930. TLS to Clowry Chapman on Bok's letterhead at the Academy of Music, Philadelphia. Dated 11/21/1922 (written out) with accompanied addressed and posted envelope.

Edward W. Bok was a Pulitzer Prize winning author and chief editor for many years of The Ladies' Home Journal where he became an influential arbiter of taste for middle class America. This letter is addressed to Clowry Chapman, author of "The Law of Advertising and Sales: and Related General Business Law : With Which is Combined Advertising and Sales that Develop Good-Will," along with many books from advertising to education. The letter discusses a future meeting between the two as well as discloses past correspondence. approx. 6x9 in.; center creased.

2 and 3. Alpheus Sherwin Cody (November 30, 1868-April 4, 1959); Two typed letters signed. Dated 9/4/1943 and 9/8/1943. TSL; 2pp and 1 page, respectively, both typed on personal letter head. Approx. 6x9 in. Sherwin Cody author of many books on the correct use of English and business communication writes to Clowry Chapman to discuss an advertising campaign for a few of his books. Sherwin Cody was a first cousin to the famed Buffalo Bill Cody.
