Item Description:

Head of Crowned Diana, Early Imperial Roman Period, circa 50-100 AD, in Carrara marble, yellowed with age, she is depicted turning to the left, chin up, her hair curled in the Flavian style below her laurel wreath and diadem crown, pegged loose on a later veined black marble turned plinth, 21 1/2" tall overall. Chips to diadem edge, back portion cleaved off and reattached long ago with large wooden pegs, the underside has been chiseled to round.
