The Rolex Daytona chronograph is one of the most collectible and sought after watches ever made. The biggest shift in the model came when it was offered with an automatic El Primero movement sourced from Zenith. The present example was produced in 1987. This is the earliest known example, made in the same year as the manual wind variant. In addition to the Floating Cosmograph text and the Mark I bezel, the bracelet is also specific to this first generation, with an outer clasp reminiscent of the Submariner and that articulated metal tab where the inner clasp is connected. Condition is immaculate, with the case appearing unpolished, extremely minimal stretch on the bracelet and the original 18K spring bars intact. This may be the most desirable and best condition Zenith Daytona in the marketplace.
