Item Description:

RARE EARLY QUEEN ANNE DESK - Slant Lid Desk in Figured Maple and Walnut, the lid retaining its original hinges, concealing an exceptionally well appointed interior, with unique cylinder front end drawers. The case, with four graduated thumb-molded drawers retaining their original Queen Anne brass hardware, rests on molded base set on original short bandy legs terminating in pad feet. The desk is in a remarkable state of preservation with only minor repair to one leg. Boston area, mid 18th c. 31 1/2" to working surface, 42 1/2" x 36" x 19 1/2". Cf.
