Lofty says:

“Peter Lik’s vast imagery of deserts, seascapes, forests, and valleys are particularly attractive to city dwellers like me, who live vicariously through the photographer’s far-flung adventures. Taken together, these scenes become a celebration of earth’s natural beauty, and a poignant reminder to protect it .” --Nurit Lewis

About The Artist:

Peter Lik was born in 1959 in Melbourne, Australia, to Czech immigrants. A gift of a Kodak Brownie camera at age 8 led him on his path to explore photography and nature, constantly experimenting and coming up with his own techniques. While visiting and traveling through the United States including Alaska in 1984, Lik was introduced to the panoramic cameras. In 1989, he embarked on a project to take pictures in all of the 50 United States, which eventually resulted in a book of photographs published in 2003, Spirit of America. After working with Australia's tourism department taking nature photographs, Lik moved to Las Vegas in 1994 and set up a facility to both print and frame his works. From there, he could publish his own books. Lik won the Windlind Smith Rice International Award in 2010 for his Art in Nature submission. His work has been exhibited at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.
