Item Description:

PEGGY BROOK (MARGARET) BACON - Study of Nude Woman Seated on Windsor Chair, graphite on paper, initialed lower right, in custom gilt frame, under linen mat, glazed. OS: 18" x 15", SS: 9 3/4" x 7", edge toning. Bacon, best known for book illustrations, was married to fellow artist Alexander Brook. Label verso indicates this was in an exhibition "Peggy Bacon: A Life in Art", at the Guild Hall Museum in East Hampton, Jan-Mar 1988, Lent by Alexander Brook.
