About The Artist:

Around 1900, there were over 50 factories in Vienna producing bronzes. While cast in a factory, the colors were applied by a lost art method of applying several layers of dust paint, often by women working from home. The most famous founder at the time was Franz Xaver Bergman or Bergmann (1861-1938) who inherited a bronze factory from his father, and who not only used many of his father's designs but created many whimsical, Orientalist and sometimes erotic themes.
