In "Boulle" and "Contra-Boulle" style frames, the miniatures portraying Catherine the Great and "Man with Feathered Beret"€ after Rembrandt, under convex glass in embossed gilt-brass surrounds, the simulated tortoiseshell frames with lightly engraved cut brass inlay, the backs faced with sheets cut from the 1876 book Daniel Deronda, the final novel by George Eliot, pen name of Mary Anne Evans (1819-1880), an English novelist, journalist and translator.


Very well preserved original condition - lifting edge veneers and slight separation of a few inlay elements. Please contact for specific condition questions.
