Marked "Haviland, France" on reverse, signed illegibly lower right, in a carved gold-painted frame with a velvet liner

About The Artist:

The Haviland & Cie. company was in operation from 1842-1931. Based in Limoges, France, founder David Haviland was the first in Limoges to employ in-house artisans to decorate their china. The company produced china specifically for the American market, especially marketing the wares to Victorian housewives. The Haviland company moved permanently to the United States in 1936.
