About The Artist:

Max Band was born in 1900 in Naumestis, Lithuania. During his early career, Band studied at the Berlin Academy. He authored "History of Contemporary Art" in 1935. In 1940 he settled in Hollywood and lived there until his death in November 1974.

The artist exhibited at the Stendahl Gallery (LA), in 1941; the Los Angelos Contemporary Museum of Art (LACMA) in 1943; the California Art Club throughout the 1940s; and the CPLH in 1956.

Band's artworks can be viewed at the Musee de Luxembourg, Petit Palais (Paris); the LACMA, and the Riverside Museum.
