This is the artist’s interpretation of an episode in Petruk Dadi Ratu (Petruk Becomes King)
in which Petruk loses his pethel (an axe-like weapon), which is his identity. “When Petruk has lost his weapon, that is his pethel , it means that he has lost his identity. But the Petruk of today, seems to be losing his cowboy hat, the symbol of his Western thinking.” exclaimed Nasirun. He reminds people not to feel superior and think that you can do anything you want when you are successful or are in power, especially not if you feel superior because you are Western educated or inclined, as you too are likely to lose your pethel or cowboy hat!
