About The Artist:

Maggie Laubser lived and worked in South Africa. Her artwork emphasized the vibrant colors and light of the South African countryside. Laubser spent her formative years studying in Europe, and became fascinated with the work of the Fauves and the Expressionists. This influence can be seen in her use of broad brushstrokes of pure color as well as in the structure of the composition.
