early 19th Century, having an inset white onyx top framed in fruitwood veneer resting on ebony columnar legs with gilt terminals, veneered bowed stretcher, ball feet; h. 31 x w. 37-3/4 x d. 28-3/4 in.; the underside marked "CONSAGRA EL CNO. BALTAZAR ZE-BALLOS A S.E. EL PRESIDENTE D LA REPUBLICA, ANDRES STA. CRUZ. PAZ, 1829." Provenance: Previously from the Bauer Estate of Guard Hill Road, Bedford, NY, by repute imported to the U.S. from Peru/ Bolivia circa 19th C. [white onyx top with old crack and repair as pictured]
