About The Artist:

René Jules Lalique (1860-1945) was a French glass designer known for his creations of glass art, perfume bottles, vases, jewelry, chandeliers, clocks and automobile hood ornaments. Lalique's early life was spent learning the methods of design and art that he would use in the future. At the age of two, his family moved to a suburb of Paris, France, but traveled to Aÿ, Marne, for summer holidays. These trips influenced Lalique's later naturalistic glasswork. Especially in the 1920s, he became noted for his distinct work in the Art Deco style, with strongly colored, organic objects.

The French word "bucolique" means bucolic, or pastoral, in English. This vase is decorated with a rustic dandelion flower motif.
