Provenance:

A gift from the artist to the husband of the current owner, the illustrator Jean-Claude Suares, New York City.
Mr. Jean-Claude Suares was the first art director of the New York Times Op-Ed page. During his influential career, Mr Suares' unique style of illustration changed the look of print media. Mr. Suares produced illustrations and cartoons for publications including The New Yorker and Variety, and books including the biographies of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Michael Jackson.
