About The Artist:

Ca' Vendramin Calergi is a Renaissance-style palace located directly on the Grand Canal in the Cannaregio quarter of Venice, Italy. The building was commissioned by Andrea Loredan and paid for by the doge, Leonardo Loredan, in the mid-14h century. In 1739, the palace was inherited through marriage by the Vendramins, a powerful patrician family of merchants, bankers, religious leaders, and politicians, who owned it for more than a century.

The composer Richard Wagner famously died of a heart attack while renting the palace in 1883. The palace has been home to the Wagner Museum since 1995.
