Portrait of a Handsome Young Gentleman with powdered hair, seated at a desk with letter in hand, oil on canvas, unsigned, in the original deep cove gilt frame having artist name tag, on the original stretcher, OS: 35 1/2" x 31", SS: 28 1/4" x 23 1/4". Fine condition, not relined.

Provenance:

Descended from Robert A. Franks (1861-1935), Andrew Carnegie's lifelong personal secretary and accountant, responsible for the philanthropic dissemination of the $300 million left at Carnegie's death in 1919, to Jerome Q. Franks to Barbara S. Yatsevitch (nee Franks).
