About The Artist:

This combination of silk plush and linen paw pads is distinctive to the 1940s when traditional teddy bear making materials were not available in Germany to toy manufacturers. This pattern was produced in 25, 30, 35, 43, and 50 cm (measured standing) in 1948 and 1949 only. This Teddy retains his short trailing "F" button as his Steiff ID.
