About The Artist:

Cruikshank was one of England's greatest and most prolific 19th century caricaturists. His illustrations were favored by Charles Dickens, a close friend, as well as other prominent writers. Cruikshank illustrated Oliver Twist, The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman, and Grimms' Fairy Tales. During his lifetime, Cruikshank's political cartoons and social commentaries were highly regarded.

These etchings illustrate an array of medical and psychological maladies - some common, while others more obscure. This series is somewhat rare and sought after by collectors for its vivid imagery and satirical content.
