About The Artist:

In 19th century China it was a beauty mark and most desirable for a Court Maiden to have small wrists and bound tiny feet. They desired White Jade because it is the color of Heaven. Because Jade is very hard (5.5 to 6.0 on the Mons scale of Hardness), bracelets like these are difficult to carve. These were made on a foot-controlled tread wheel and produced very slowly.
