About The Artist:

The Byron Company photography studio was founded in 1888 by Joseph Byron. The firm specialized in theater photography and photographs of ships. JosephÕs son, Percy Claude Byron, a partner, was well-known for his expert photography of maritime subjects, hence the images here of luxury cruise ship interiors were almost certainly taken by him. In 1942, Percy closed the studio and donated the archive to the Museum of the City of New York.
