About The Artist:

Bohumil Elias was born in 1937 in what is now known as the Czech Republic. In 1954, he attended the Glassmaking School, in Zelezny Brod, Czechoslovakia. Upon completion of his studies there, he attended the Applied Arts College in Prague from 1957 to 1963. Over his lifetime, the artist was represented at tens of galleries and museums, most notably the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg, Germany (1973), Waldstein Palais, in Prague (1984), Musée des Arts Décoratifs, in Paris (1989), and Gallery Yamaha, in Tokyo, Japan (1990). His artwork can be found in the collections of the Musée des Arts Décoratif de la Ville de Lausanne in Switzerland, the National Gallery in Prague, The Amsterdam Museum of Modern Art, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, amongst many others.
