About The Artist:

Rug weaving in Morocco has been around for thousands of years but it wasn't until the mid twentieth century that they began to be appreciated by large numbers in the West. Designers such as Le Corbusier and Frank Lloyd Wright began using them in their interiors and brought them to the attention of the general public. The berber tribes of the Atlas mountains (in particular the Beni Ourain) were a favorite of these designers due to their abstract nature and free use of form. This rug was woven at the end of the 20th century by the Beni Ourain tribe of the Middle Atlas.
