the central piece and baskets with mark of James Dixon & Sons, London, 1875, the two side pieces with mark of Dobson & Sons, London, 1902 (sheep) and London, 1903 (deer)

modelled as three separate pieces, the largest central piece realistically cast as a stag, with impressive antlers, and a doe on a rocky outcrop, beneath two intricately rendered entwined large palm trees, three silver baskets with a similar palm frond pattern and cut-glass liners hang from three curling branches of the trees, flanked by two smaller pieces also cast as rocky bases with leafy mounds and naturalistically rendered trees, one with rams, with wonderfully curling horns, and a sheep standing in its shade, the other also with a stag and a doe, the tops of the trees each cradle a large cut-glass round bowl with scalloped edges, weight 7,838 gms.
