Item Description:

An outstanding Etruscan terracotta head of a Nubian, c. 4th - 3rd Century BC, with expressive features and wearing a headband with fillets over curled hair. The face is beautifully detailed with open mouth and well-modeled eyes and brows. H: 9 x 7 in (22.8 x 17.8 cm). Well-preserved and intact with remnants of pigments and mounted on a custom lucite base. Ex Harold Whitbeck estate, San Francisco CA; Ex Faustus Ancient Art, London, purchased mid-1990's and with copy of the receipt.
