Item Description:

A wonderful Etruscan terracotta votive head of a woman, 4th - 3rd Century BC, in beautiful high relief with detailed features, her hair parted behind a narrow diadem and falling in curled locks into a pendant corkscrew on either side. 11 x 7 3/4 in (28 x 19.7 cm). Light surface deposits and traces of red paint. Cf. J. Eisenberg, Art of the Ancient World, 2012, no. 100 for a near identical example; Ex Faustus Ancient Art, London, acquired in the mid-1990's; Ex Harold Whitbeck estate, San Francisco CA.
