A Victorian Silver-Plated Circular Butter Dish, William Gough, Birmingham, third quarter 19th century

Product Description:

The domed lid pierced with crosses and squares, surmounted by a recumbent cow, with conforming pierced decoration to the sides between Greek key and bead borders, with cow's head and drop ring handles, on three shell and claw feet, complete with a milk glass liner.

The manufacturer of this dish, William Gough, was an exhibitor at London's Great Exhibition in 1851.
