A Spanish-Moorish bronze mortar with pestle

Item Description:

A Spanish-Moorish bronze mortar with pestle, c. 14th - 16th Century, the body rounded with a row of vertically raised prunts, raised disk base and two narrow incised lines around the base of the flared mouth. The pestles is ingot-shaped with domed end. Mortar: 3 1/8 x 4 1/2 in (8 x 11.4 cm); the pestle: 7 1/2 in (13.2 cm) in length. Ex Los Angeles private collection.
