About The Artist:

Cloisonné is a European technique that reached China in the 13th to 14th centuries, by which compartments (cloisons in French) of silver or gold wires or thin strips are placed on the edges of an object which separate the different compartments of the enamel or inlay. Chinese cloisonné is the best known enamel cloisonné, and often uses the color blue, as seen in these vases.
