How selling works:
Selling on Lofty is simple. During your conversation with a member of our consignments team we will identify items that we feel are a good fit for our marketplace. Once you send photos and information along for those pieces, our Experts will identify, describe and value your pieces. If you decide to consign your pieces to Lofty, we will list it on our "Buy Now" marketplace for 3 months. We will let you know if there are offers or when an item sells. Your complete privacy is assured, and our network of experts ensures that your items are identified and valued as accurately as possible.
Why sell on Lofty?
We started Lofty because selling valuables is hard, and we believe it should be easy. Selling on Lofty means half the commission of traditional venues with 10 times the ease! We offer an international online clientele, expert cataloging for your item, no upfront fees, a commission significantly lower than traditional venues (Lofty charges a competitive 25% Seller's Commission for sales in its Marketplace), translation into Mandarin and Russian, and free white glove pickup and packing after your item sells!

Our experts are all highly qualified, professional appraisers, dealers and former specialists with experience at institutions including Sotheby’s, Christie’s, Phillips and the Antiques Roadshow.
What are Lofty's Fees?
Lofty charges a 25% seller's fee for selling in our fixed-price marketplace and there are no upfront fees for listing on the site. Sellers will only owe a commission if the item sells. Requesting an evaluation is free of charge, as is listing your item for sale on Lofty. Shipping to the buyer will be arranged at no cost to you.
How does Lofty pay its sellers?
When your item sells, Lofty will pay you the proceeds from the sale, less any Seller’s Fee, by electronic check or wire. Payment is made to the seller after the buyer receives the item and our 7-Day Return Window ends. Our 7-Day return window ensures that the item sold has been accurately described and identified. Your portion of the sale will be paid promptly after the end of the return period, and in practice, very few of our items are returned due to our thorough evaluation process. Lofty acts as the trusted intermediary between you and the buyer to make sure that you receive the proceeds or your item back in its original condition.
