Wilson Hurley

Wilson Hurley (1924-2008) was an American oil painter known for his landscape paintings of the Western United States. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he spent his childhood in the Washington, D.C. area and in New Mexico and graduated from West Point in 1945.  He practiced law in Santa Fe and in Albuquerque for 12 years until he closed his practice to devote himself to painting full time in 1964. Over 1200 of his paintings are in private and corporate collections throughout the United States. His works are also in numerous museum collections, including at the Denver Art Museum, Colorado Springs Fine Art Center, and Albuquerque Museum of Art and History.
