Wayne Morrell (1923-2013) was an American artist, illustrator, and painter known for his American Impressionist marine paintings, landscapes, cityscapes and townscapes, coastal scenes, snowscapes, figurative, and genre paintings. He worked with mediums including oil, pastels, and watercolor. Born in Clementon, New Jersey, he studied draftsmanship and commercial art at the Philadelphia Museum School of Industrial Art. He was primarily a self-taught artist and began painting in 1953, focusing on murals during this early period. Since then, he has exhibited his works nationally and internationally with many solo shows, winning several prizes in exhibitions throughout the Northeast. His works are in numerous collections, including at the Butler Institute of American Art and the Columbus Museum of Fine Art.
