Vahakn Arslanian (b. 1975), born in Antwerp, is a Belgian artist who creates mixed-media sculptures, installations, paintings, and drawings.Raised in New York, he attended the New School of Visual Arts, but is largely a self-taught artist. He also collaborated with artist Vito Shchnabel since his childhood. His primary subject matter includes airplanes, birds, and candles. His work frequently employs glass as well as found or acquired objects, such as antique window sashes and hardware, massive airliner cockpit windows, lightbulbs, and jet-engine fans. The artist also often works with discarded aircraft windows, breaking the glass and inserting small drawings into the center. His work has been shown in exhibitions in London, NewYork City, and Switzerland.
