Tracey Emin (b. 1963) is a British artist known for autobiographical work, including installations and multi media pieces. Her wide-ranging practice includes paintings, drawings, photos, videos, textile art, sculpture, and installations. Born in London, she studied at Maidstone College of Art and the Royal College of Art. Her work is often personal and self-referential that illustrates her own experiences in intimate engagements with the viewer. She is a prominent member of the Young British Artists and was nominated for the Turner Prize in 1991. She represented Britain in 2004 at the Venice Biennale and currently lives and works in London.
