Rare fossil Scutella Miocene Sand Dollars in matrix with prehistoric Sea Cow rib, Scutella stelatta and Metaxytherium rib, Miocene Period, 19-15 million years ago, France. This intact block of Miocene Period sand dollar Scutella stelatta and a rib fossil from a Metaxytherium sea cow was found exactly as shown. Sand dollars are Echinoids and are members of the echinoderm family. The detail of each sand dollar is superb and the presence of the sea cow rib adds incredible character to this rare specimen. The front surface is multi-dimensional, and all the fossils on this specimen are in a fantastic state of preservation. A highly unusual and immensely attractive showpiece fossil! No repair or restoration with fossils in original position. 10 in x 10 in. Ex French private collection.
