A neat little Coptic bone doll, Roman Egypt, c. 3rd – 5th Century AD, the figure stylized with large eyes and holes at the shoulders for the attachment of arms. Beautifully patinated a darker brown with light deposits. H: 1 2/3 in (4.2 cm). Lucite base. Ex collection of a Manhattan, New York professor, acquired in the 1970's.
