Sir Terry Frost

Sir Terry Frost (1915-2003) was a British Abstract painter and one of the leading artist of the St. Ives School. His early work was in the realistic tradition of the Euston Road School, but he later turned to abstraction. He attended St. Ives School of Art and later studied at Camberwell School of Art.  His work is based on his observation of nature and is characterized by the use of patterns of interlinked shapes that are strongly outlined but avoid geometric regularity. The artist taught at Bath Academy of Art, Leeds College of Art, and Reading University.
