PSEUDO-GEORGIAN LOBED SILVER FOOTED BOWL

Item Description:

PSEUDO-GEORGIAN LOBED SILVER FOOTED BOWL, well having six-panelled lobed sides featuring repousse and chased foliate designs, two engraved "GWS" initials to opposite sides, interior with remnants of gold-washed finish, raised on a pedestal-type foot. Impressed with four pseudo English hallmarks along the exterior edge of the foot of a lion, a "W", a crown leopard, and a bust, unknown silver fineness. Total weight: 17.75 ozt. Possibly Continental or American. Likely 19th century.

Condition:

Very good overall condition with some wear and surface scratches, a few minute dents mostly to rim, losses to gold-washed finish of interior.

From the estate of Commander Buryl and Nelwyn Kay, McLean, VA.
