GEORGIAN ENGLISH STERLING SILVER WINE FUNNEL

Item Description:

GEORGIAN ENGLISH STERLING SILVER WINE FUNNEL, having a rounded well with reeded band accents terminating into a long spout with curved end, including a filter insert with gadroon rim, a shell clip and an unattached ring around the base. Base, filter insert, and unattached ring with "C F" maker's marks possible for Charles Fox I or Crispin Fuller and a lion passant hallmark for sterling fineness, base and filter with King George III duty marks, base with two additional hallmarks of a crowned leopard city mark for London and a "d" date mark for 1819. Total weight: 4.550 ozt. Circa 1819.

Condition:

Very good overall condition with minor wear and surface scratches, a few scattered minor dents, end of spout with dent and two pin holes along seam, filter insert with slight bending to rim.
