Item Description:

GEORGIAN ENGLISH STERLING SILVER SUGAR TONGS AND SAUCE LADLES, LOT OF TEN, six sugar tongs comprising one by John Walton of Newcastle with 1832 date mark, one by Thomas Wheatley of Newcastle with 1833 date mark, one by Stephen Adams I or II of London with 1806 date mark, one by Thomas Wilkes Barker of London with 1814 date mark, one by George Wintle of London with 1805 date mark, and one with "JS" maker's mark and 1824 date mark; sauce ladles consisting a pair with feather-edged handles having worn "[?]W" maker's marks and 1793 date mark, and two by William Eley & William Fearn of London with 1815/6 and 1816 date marks. Each with a maker's marks and three hallmarks of a lion passant for sterling fineness, a date mark, and a King George III or IV duty mark, some pieces with city marks. Total weight: 14.155 ozt. Late 18th/first half 19th century.

Condition:

Very good to excellent overall condition with wear and surface scratches, other imperfections include minor dents, nicks, worn bowl tips, and slight bending; one ladle with feather-edged handle having a repair to stem of handle; one ladle by William Eley & William Fearn with moderate dent to bowl.
