GEORGIAN ENGLISH REPOUSSE STERLING SILVER SMALL PITCHER

Item Description:

GEORGIAN ENGLISH REPOUSSE STERLING SILVER SMALL PITCHER, having an ovoid well featuring two vignettes of tavern scenes with figures framed by bowknot and fruit designs, neck with shell and acanthus leaf accents, double scrolled handle with leaf thumbrest, raised on round foot. Impressed worn maker's mark for David Hennell I & Robert Hennell I and three hallmarks of a lion passant for sterling fineness, a crowned leopard city mark for London, and a worn "I" or "L" date mark for 1764 or 1766. Total weight: 11.840 ozt. Mid 18th century.

Condition:

Very good overall condition with some wear and surface scratches, some worn spots to raised decoration, some denting, likely repair to spout.
