Sergio Bustamante (b. 1949), born in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico, is an artist, jeweler, and sculptor whose work encompasses a variety of forms, including paper mâché, ceramics, and bronze.His recent creations include distinctive lines of fine jewelry and furniture. He began with paintings and paper mâché figures and first exhibited his works at the Galeria Misracha in Mexico City in 1966. He, along with other artists, established the"Family Workshop Studio" in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, Mexico in 1975.In the mid 1970s, he focused on creating sculptures in wood and bronze, many reflecting animal themes. He later introduced his furniture designs in 1979 and explored the use of color and form in the 1980s with his ceramic sculptures.
