Philippe Mohlitz (b. 1941) is French engraver working in the traditional manner known for his technical refinement and meticulous detailing.His work captures images of decay, war, and deserted lands that are drawn from the realms of science fantasy while also following in the Surrealist tradition. Born in Bordeaux, he studied the techniques of engraving at the studio of Jean Delpech in Paris in 1965. His technique is characterized by careful handling and smooth continuous engraved lines of controlled weight. He has exhibited extensively worldwide since first showing his work in 1967.
