Mark Flood (b. 1957) is a contemporary American artist known for his work that mocks American culture and the contemporary art world. Born in Houston, Texas, he attended Rice University. One of his frequent modes of production includes stenciling graphic, confrontational statements on found signs, canvases, or cardboard. He is also known for his Lace Painting series, composed of technically inventive and delicate compositions of overlapping layers of lace and paint on canvas. His work is inthe collections of the Modern Art Museum of Forth Worth, the Dallas Museum of Art, the Menil Collection, and the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, among others.
