Larry Zox

Larry Zox (1936-2006), born in Des Moines, Iowa, was an American abstract painter and Colorist. He attended the University of Oklahoma, Drake University, and the Des Moines Art Center. From 1959 to 1962, he completed a collection of collages composed of painted pieces of paper that were stabled to joined plywood. In 1963, he began working on his Rotation series, which used a standardized geometrical composition as the foundation for a series of paintings in different colors. His work has been exhibited at numerous art venues, including the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, The Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and the Rocket Gallery in London.
