Known for making Swiss watches, the Jaeger-LeCoultre firm became suppliers of clocks to the Allied forces during WWI. Following the war they expanded beyond watches and stand-alone clocks to make automobile dashboard clocks. In 1926 a specialized department devoted only to clockmaking was created by JLC. Their most famous achievement was the Atmos clock. Their 1935 line included the Mignonette alarm, Ados clock with curtain, Mysterieuse clock, Luxhorn, Etrier, Baguette, Rue de la Paix, Luminous Globe and the Subject clock, named the Double-Face.
