Gregory Stewart Hull (b. 1950) is an American plein-air impressionistoil painter known for his coastal landscapes and still lifes. He studied underAlvin Gittins at the University of Utah and later moved to Los Angeles after graduating in 1977. The artist paints scenes from his travel locations, including trips to the High Sierra and the Grand Canyon as well as extended stays in Spain and Italy. His paintings are characterized by gestural brushstrokes that simplify a scene to capture its essence. He has exhibited in numerous exhibitions, and his work is in galleries in California, Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico.
