Item Description:

Three color lithographs published by Sarony, Major and Knapp, New York, circa mid-19th century. Lithographs are survey sketches from Government reports, explorations and surveys for the U.S. Pacific Railway. All three stamped 'U.S.P.R.R. Exp and Surveys - 47th and 49th Paralles' in upper left. Titles include: 1) 'Kamas Prairie of the Pend D'Oreilles Indians in the Rocky Mountains, Looking Southward' General Report - Plate LIII; 2) 'Teton Valley' General Report - Plate XXVIII; and 3) 'Chemakane Mission' General Report - Plate XXXIX. All measure 8.25-in. x 11.5-in. sheet size. All in G-VG/VG-EX condition with minor folds and spots in margins not visible in image. 'L.E.Stolar and Co., 30 South Wells Street, Chicago 6, Illinois' stamped on verso. If lot is absent of a condition report a condition report may be requested via email.
