Rare AOR 2.33 San Francisco Mime Troupe Handbill

Rare AOR 2.33 San Francisco Mime Troupe Handbill

Item Description:

This very early Bill Graham Presents poster is from a series of June 1965 San Francisco Mime Troupe shows at the Comedia Repertory Theater in Palo Alto. The purpose of the shows was to benefit the Students Nonviolent Coordinating Committee and the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party, both popular organizations of the day. The same shows also are advertised on another piece, shown in The Art of Rock>/i> as Plate Number 2.32, and all were performed at the Gate Theater in Sausalito. These early handbills are excessively rare. They were produced in very small quantities at a time long before poster-collecting became fashionable.
